Tracy - Not sure if you were talking to Kate or talking about MOMS Club. I honestly don't know if there's a rule about the age of the kids but I have noticed that people tend to drift away from the group once their kids start school. You'd have to talk to the membership VP of your local chapter to find out for sure.

Would you accept a divorced mom with 3 teenaged kiddos? (One's 19, already graduated from HS...)

Wow... Kicked out because you left? Crazy!

The Holmen MOMS Club chapter is a great group of folks. We all get along really haven't had any problems that I'm aware of. Unfortunately, we are part of the larger MOMS Club which does have some stupid rules that we have to follow, borders being one of them. Which leaves people that live close but not close enough out. :(

That is insane. Unfortunately I think it's pretty common though....I actually got kicked out of a group because I left the meetup location after waiting for like 20 minutes. Turns out some of the stay home mothers were late to meet me for coffee. I thought they bailed and had to get back to work. Apparently I was not respectful and they didn't want me...lol....like I would have stayed???? Crazy mama's.

i just tweeted you this, but I have to say it again, thank you for posting some of the best unintentional humor I've ever read. These people take themselves way too seriously, but when i got to the ban on puking kids, that was the best.

Just like Right Said Fred did their song, "I'm too sexy," you are WAY too hip for the hip mamas!

What's up with the background check and the mandatory meetings? This is a little over the top.

Sounds like an ironic version of that Marxist :) quote ..."I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT PEOPLE LIKE ME AS A MEMBER".

Seriousl;y, though, they're being very restrictive, and while that is their right, they're also preventing / intimidating those that are 'unlike' them from joining. The danger is that they become too closed minded and less intersting themselves.

OMG It's being run by a school superintendent! No gossip or dramatics, background check, pre-approved guests...Stepford Mommies.
Thank goodness you didn't get sucked into their vortex of politically correct madness!
