Wow, yet another fabulous woman joining This Mommy Gig!
We’d like to welcome Lauren Vargas - get to know her here! (and if you missed reading about the rest of the mamas contributing here, check out The Moms).
Lauren Vargas is a single mother of four year-old, diva-daughter, Merrick. Twice divorced, but not bitter, Lauren juggles motherhood while pursuing a career as a public relations professional and marketing communications professor in Dallas, TX. On the heels of divorce, yoga, scrapbooking and practicing Al-Anon assist in life balance while her heart actively awaits a metamorphasis.
“I am caterpillar. The leaves I eat are bitter. But dimly I sense a great change coming. What I offer you humans is my willingness to dissolve and transform. I do that without knowing what the end result will be.” - Joanna Macy, John Seed, Pat Fleming, Arne Moss
Born on the cusp of Generation Y, Lauren is anything but a slacker and approaches life with tremendous vim and vigor! Growing up as a military dependent gave Lauren the opportunity to live and experience different cultures. She views the world with an openness and acceptance to adapt to new situations, viewpoints and environments.
Lauren is author of Communicators Anonymous and Marcom Colloquy blogs and contributor to Now is Gone blog. Despite initial deer-in-the-headlights expressions, Lauren incorporates social media tools into her marketing communications classes as a professor at Northwood University. Lauren talks communication theory versus practice and how to develop the next PR generation.Connect with Lauren on LinkedIn and follow her drama via Twitter @vargasl.
